Operation "OpenUP! Community Outreach Services provides a prepaid cellular connection via an activation or a FREE recycled phone (The RE: Project - RE:Cycle, RE:Furbish, RE:Activate, RE:New with a private number and voice mail activated on a specific prepaid cellular network) to resources available in our community for our disenfranchised citizen's needing an open line of communications when seeking needed community services such as jobs and housing, empowering them to move forward with their lives.

That is the mission and purpose set forth by
Cissi Sherlock
Founder and Director
Operation OpenUP Community Outreach Services and Cell Phone MInistry

Welcome to Rev. Bryant at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church

I would also like to thank him for the hope he instilled in my heart and the connections he made possible on what was supposed to be a day of mourning. Rev. Parker turned it into a day of enlightenment love and re-discovery!

Opening minds.
Opening hearts.
Building relationships.

Colossians 3:23
23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,

He's just too cute! I like this picture! I smile every time I look at those eyes! I just like looking at that adorable face!

Please host a cell phone collection drive. We need your old cell phones with chargers.

Thank You!

Operation "OpenUP!" Community Outreach Services is listed with the IRS as Charitable-Social Services organization.

OPCOS is not yet a 501c3 (non-profit) organization. So donations are accepted through our parent church, God's House of Worship in Speedway, Indiana. Pastor Benjamin John, presiding, 317-293-9870.

The license for non-profit status is being requested.

PURPOSE: Operation "OpenUP! Community Outreach Services provides a prepaid cellular connection via an activation or a Free recycled phone (with a private number and voice mail activated on a specific prepaid cellular network) to resources available in our community for those disenfranchised individuals needing an open line of communications when seeking needed services such as jobs and housing, empowering them to move forward with their lives.

We provide repaid cellular service via low cost activations, free recycled cell phones, and low cost SIM cards to those most in need of an open line of communication for the following reasons:
- re-entry, ex-offenders
- job searches
- housing
- emergency
- medical situations
- veterans
- domestic abuse
- senior citizens
- handicapped
- transitional living
- other specially recognized circumstances referred by our Resource Partners and Service Providers.

We also work within our community to sponsor cell phone collection drives (collecting working units with chargers) around the community to help build our reserves so as to provide for the many requests we receive for our services. This also assists in helping to recycle unused cell phones, specially when you have upgraded, it helps us to have working units in stock as they are requested.

To prevent abuse of the program in an effot to concentrate on helping those most in need of our service, clients to OPCOS must be referred by a service provider or representative of an outreach organization, social service agencies or churches organizations who help to us recognize the needs of their clients. Our service is not limited to the Indianapolis area.

An administrative fee of $10.00 is required at the time services are received and must be paid in cash by the recipient. This donation helps offset operating expenses and helps the organization to stay afloat.

OPCOS is not responsible for this fee and does not pay this fee for recipients. In many cases, the referring Resource Partner has helped the recipient with the fee. There are also church, organizations, family and friend that can help the recipient met this requirement.

This phone will belong to the recipient, therefore the recipient will then become responsible for reloading the phone (keeping minutes on it) via the designated carrier. The recipient will find out who the prepaid carrier is at the time the phone is received.

To become a Resource Partner, call or text Cissi Sherlock at 317-605-8584 or 317-376-8654 or send an email. Please register as a member of this network. Friends and supporters of Operation OpenUP are encouraged to join our network, as well.

Please Join our cell phone recycling program: To achieve our goal, we collect unused cell phones with chargers in our community.

Within 24 hours of your donation, that cell phone can be the road to a new life for a member of our community.

We collect all brands of handsets. We pay particular attention to Verizon-based cell phones, Page Plus Cellular and AT&T handses. But I repeat, we collect them all and put them all to good use supporting the organization.

To effectively serve our community, we need your help .

We need your old cell phones!
