ABOUT OPERATION "OPEN UP!"

~Mission~

Operation "OPEN UP!" is a multi-phased community outreach ministry developed to provide disenfranchised persons in the community a way of having and ultimately maintaining prepaid cellular phone service so as not to miss important calls and messages necessary in seeking such basic human services as housing, employment and other important situations.

~Description of Services~

General

In Phase 1 of Operation “Open UP!”, we provide an opportunity for clients to get started with prepaid cellular phone service either by helping them to activate their existing cell phones (rules apply) or by supplying the client with a re:cycled cell phone with service activation. All activated units will be preloaded with 100 minutes so that service is immediate. All activations have standard features such as voice mail, call waiting, call forwarding and three-way calling. Cell phones can be reloaded at any retail outlet that carries minutes for the Page Plus Network for as little as $10.00 plus tax or service fee (if applicable), or on line at www.babblebug.com. Several types of prepaid service are available including free nights and weekends and monthly service with unlimited calling.

With our RE:Project, unused cell phones are collected from within our community and re:purposed to serve the communication needs of those clients referred to Operation “Open UP!” by our Community Partners. Though we accept all cell phones for collection, only cell phones with chargers are used for repurposing to our clients. And, those phones have to qualify for activations by rules set forth by Babblebug.com and Page Plus. Cell phones not eligible for our RE:Project will be (periodically) forwarded to other outreach programs in our community that utilize recycled cell phones.

Community Partners

A Community Partner is defined as a person, business, church or organization that works directly with Operation “Open UP!” to assist in the needs of the community. They are our community liaisons. Updated information on Community Partners will be kept on file with Operation “Open UP to assist in the referral process. Verification of all referrals is required. Community Partners directly affiliated with and on file with Operation "Open UP!" will assist in the referral process by first recognizing the needs of their clients and then directing them to Operation "Open UP!" if a cell phone is a necessary for that client to receive calls concerning housing and employment, etc.

Operation “Open UP!” will not service any individual that has not been referred by a Community Partner. Individuals not referred by any one of our Community Partners will be directed to our parent company, Chat It Up PrePaid Cellular Services for activations and any other cell phone related services and will be required to pay full price for any services or products received.

Activations

There is a $10.00 service fee attached to each regular activation and a $15.00 service fee attached to each SIM card activation with Operation “Open UP!”. The fee can be paid by the recipient or gifted to the recipient by any source. Payment is prepaid in cash only from the recipient and refunded if an activation is rejected for any reason. Other payment arrangements can be made for gifting by Community Partners or other outside sources. Gifting by Community Partners or other outside sources can be done singularly or in tandem.

Additional Information

The activation service provided by Operation “Open UP!” is a one-time only - per person, per activated unit offer meant to help get the recipient get started on the road to receiving necessary life services. Recipients will be made aware of this both by our Community Partners and by representatives of Operation “Open UP!”. The reloading of minutes will be addressed as needed.

Operation “Open UP!” will be responsible for the logging in and the reprogramming of the recycled phones as well as providing the Community Partner with activations requested to fulfill the mission of the program. Operation “Open UP!” will be responsible for keeping an updated list of client referrals and activations.

Reiterations: (1) Please let it be noted that activations not referred to Operation “Open UP!” by any of our Community Partners will be forwarded to our retail business entity, Chat It Up PrePaid Cellular Service and subject to full retail pricing. (2) Only cell phones received with charges will be considered for repurposing to clients of “Operation “Open UP!”
Chat It Up PrePaid Cellular Services/Operation “Open UP!” would like to invite all business churched and organizations in the city of Indianapolis interested in helping our citizens to overcome obstacles to become a Community Partner. As a Community Partner you can help in one or all of the below mentioned ways:

● As a - *HOST. A host is a person, business, church or organization that recognizes the need and refers someone to Operation "Open UP!". You must be on file as a Community Partner to make a referral to the program.

● As a - *SPONSOR. A sponsor is a person, church, business or organization that is willing to cover the cost(s) of an activation(s) by "Giving the Gift of an Activation", in cases where client referrals are unable to do so. All sponsors do not have to be on file as a Community Partner, though first time gifting creates a record for you on file with Operation “Open UP!”. If one should decide to function as a Full Community Partner (host, sponsor, and recycling), it is suggested that contact information be on file prior to our first activity.

● As a - *DROP-OFF OR COLLECTION SITE. Your business, church or organization will provide a service by "going green" or joining our RE:Project and helping to collect and re:cycle unused cell phones with chargers from your members, employees or from the general public for re:purposing to our recipients. Re:cycling phones helps our environment and creates opportunity for the phones and the people the phones will help. Only phone collected with chargers can be considered for re:purposing (passing along to clients) with Operation “Open UP!”. All others will be utilized in other ways to benefit “Operation Open UP!” or forwarded to other community outreach programs, locally and nationally, that have cell phone outreach programs. It is preferred that those who designate themselves as official drop-off cites for recycled phones be on file as a Community Partner. Though, we will accept recycled phones from any resource.

In addition:
We would like to work together with our Community Partners to uplift the lives of those who need our help.

Community Partners would also help in the promotion of the program and the execution of periodic fundraisers in an effort to help Operation “Open UP!” become and remain self-sufficient and develop a long-term sustainable program that will be of value to our community.

If accepted, it is proposed that this program be in place with each Community Partner for the length of 2 years. Prior to the culmination of the two-year period, our agreement shall be revisited and both parties shall agree on the future of the Community Partnership.

Conclusion

It is the goal of Operation “Open UP!” to become a driving force in our community through financial, organizational and spiritual growth. With hard work and determination, we hope to insure your support in helping us to achieve these goals now and in the future.

Thank you for your support, and for recognizing the needs of the people of our community by considering Community Partnership with Operation "Open UP!" as a way to help improve conditions in our community. It is our desire to create an outreach ministry that moves to serve those needs in a dedicated and spiritual way.
